Regards - Craig ================================================ From: artch@agriffin.cpcug.org Newsgroups: bit.listserv.edi-l Subject: Security Policy paper on ftp.sterling.com Date: 14 Jul 1994 01:40:01 GMT Organization: Athena Associates, Inc. Mr. Peter Weiss, of the Office Of Management and Budget (OMB, part of the Executive Branch of the U.S. government) has been kind enough to make the following paper available: _Security Requirements and Evidentiary Issues in the Interchange of Electronic Documents: Steps Toward Developing a Security Policy_. The Introduction begins: "This report represents continuing work by OMB to develop policies and practices to encourage the use of Electronic Commerce techniques to imporve the efficiency of government operations and service to the citizen." I have converted it from Word Perfect to a PostScript file. (The tables should be landscape, but my print driver is smarter than I am.) It has been placed on ftp.sterling.com; look for it to show up in the /edi directory as weiss01.zip 33167 bytes. The zip contains weiss.ps 99263 bytes. Thanks to Kent Landfield at Sterling Software. This document is quite interesting, not only for its content, but also for its footnotes and references. I hope you fine it useful, provocative, interesting, Artch James A.(Artch) Griffin Athena Associates, Inc. ======================================================================
